Preston are Beacon Games Champions!

Team North West, which included City of Preston Aquatics alongside our friends (and friendly rivals!) from City of Salford, Stockport Metro and Denton Artistic Swimming Club have again stepped up to win the Artistic Swimming Beacon Games.

Our 2 swimmers Agatha and Imogen were superb and contributed to the team win.

Figure Results:

Agatha 23rd overall (including against the GB squad), 🥉 for the Regional Teams
Imogen 50th overall (including against the GB squad), 29th for the Regional Teams

Agatha was also a member of the 4 person team that won gold for the land routine and swam 3rd leg in the relay race.

Congratulations to Team North West! It was an absolute joy for our swimmers to be part of a team with City of Salford Synchronised Swimming Club, Stockport & Denton Artistic Swimming Club

Outstanding Success for CoPA at the UK National Championships 2025

The last weekend in April delivered outstanding results for CoPA as they competed in the UK National championships and came away with medals in almost every event.  This top-level competition is the pinnacle of Artistic Swimming in the UK and is attended by the sport’s top athletes who compete to be crowned the best artistic swimmers in the UK.

The first medal was a bronze for Rhea who finished third in the Technical Solo category.  Natasha also finished a very credible 5th in this category.  Rhea’s solo prowess was cemented further with another 3rd place finish in the free solo event, earning her a bronze medal.  Natasha again finished in 5th place in this event too.

CoPA’s acrobatic team (Rhea Howard, Natasha Howard, Leah Meyer, Chloe Hawksworth, Jess Lockett, Olivia Higham and Nema Dawkins) delivered their brilliantly executed routine with an astonishing array of lifts and somersaults and stormed to a second place finish, collecting a silver medal for each of them.

The technical duet event saw CoPA sisters Rhea and Natasha Howard swim together in a beautiful and sharp routine which earned them a third place finish and a bronze medal.

The CoPA technical team event saw CoPA narrowly miss the medal table with a superb swim which earned them a 5th place finish.

Another team event – the free team routine – saw CoPA’s swimmers finish in a respectable 8th place.

On the second day of the event, Natasha and Leah finished a well deserved second place to collect a silver medal, and they were beaten to first place only by swimmers from the GB team swimming a GB duet routine.  Rhea and Chloe also competed in this event and finished in 9th place.

As if the medal haul was not enough for CoPA, our swimmer Natasha took the prestigious trophy for the most points scored by any swimmer in the whole event.

We are immensely proud of all our swimmers who have proved without doubt that CoPA is one of the top artistic swimming clubs in the UK.

CoPA Swimmer Rhea Represents Great Britain

We are immensely proud of our swimmer Rhea who this month travelled to Belgrade, Serbia to represent Great Britain in technical and free team events at the Senior European Artistic Swimming Championships this week, coming home with a bronze medal!  Rhea has put in countless hours of training in Bristol over the past year as a full-time member of the GB artistic swimming squad.  Her dedication and hard work has paid off with Rhea being selected to swim in this international competition representing her country.  A video of Rhea’s swim with the team can be found below.

Congratulations Rhea!

Fabulous Results for CoPA at National Championships

CoPA had a wonderful weekend at the 2022 National Championships – the first National event for our junior and senior swimmers since 2019. After an especially long period of time out of the pool for our senior swimmers the results were especially impressive. This was the largest number of entries CoPA had entered for many years with multiple personal bests in a number of events, which was especially impressive when considering the exceptionally high volume of overall entries! Huge thanks go to Fiona and all the coaches for helping to prepare the swimmers ahead of the competition and to our club volunteers and judge Camilla who helped at the competition. Full results are detailed below.
