There will be a CoPA disco taking place on 30th November 2018 as a fundraising event for CoPA. This is a Friday evening and there will therefore be NO synchro training on that day. Let your hair down and come to the disco instead!
Please see the event page for full details and get your tickets now!
CoPA has synchronised swimmers both past and present striving to represent their country as part of the GB synchronised swimming squad. However synchronised swimming and water polo were dealt a severe blow in 2014 when a major source of funding for these Olympic sports was cut entirely by UK Sport, leaving these athletes (or their parents) to fund the vast majority of their training themselves. Please take the time to complete the UK Sport public consultation survey on this topic which is currently under review and help to campaign for a fairer distribution of funding across all Olympic sports and hopefully synchro and water polo may once again be able to benefit from some much needed funding at national/international level.
Congratulations to Billy Bamber who scooped the first annual CoPA ‘Swimmer of the Year’ award in Water Polo discipline at the recent CoPA Christmas display event. Billy’s hard work, full attendance and ‘team player’ attitude make this award thoroughly deserved. Well done Billy!
As Christmas approaches, you will no doubt be thinking of starting your Christmas shopping. Please remember to support City of Preston Aquatics in your online shopping by signing up with Easy Fundraising and channelling your donations to CoPA. This costs you absolutely nothing, but a few minutes spent setting up an account and using it each time you shop online can make a big difference to CoPA funds. CoPA receives no external funding and exists purely through member subscriptions and any additional funds such as these which can be secured. Please see the ‘Support CoPA‘ page for full details and help to propel CoPA onwards and upwards!
